Anna Hoffman – Principal
During Anna Hoffman’s 20-year career, she has worked on presidential homes, royal palaces, private islands, and residential compounds. As a landscape architect, she creates master plans for urban residences, large estates, farms, ranches, and resorts, incorporating the unique lifestyle and interests of her clients and the different cultural perspectives for how outdoor space is perceived and used. Anna is continually inspired to create successful and flexible spaces for outdoor living, often taking into account the needs of multi-generational families with large service staff and children of different ages.
Born and raised in California, she has worked on projects in Morocco, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Cyprus, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, India, China, Brazil, the Caribbean, Mauritius, Azerbaijan, Mexico and Hawaii. She is intimately familiar with the coastal, desert, semi-tropical and Mediterranean plant palettes.
Anna believes the best projects are collaborative between designers and consultants who pay attention to detail, working together create seamless indoor / outdoor environments.
Juan Camilo Ospina Londoño – Principal
Juan Camilo is a licensed landscape architect who brings an extensive catalog of construction, horticulture and design knowledge to the team. Having worked on both the East and West coasts over the last 20 years, he has designed and built landscapes across a variety of scales. His professional history includes cultivating sales, overseeing construction, project management and creating award-winning property designs.
He has found success in developing relationships with contractors, designers and other industry professionals over the years. His enthusiastic involvement and communication skills provide a seamless experience between his clients, contractors and his staff. He believes in the importance of connecting with each client, in order to provide them a comprehensive scope of the process, timeline and expectations.
Today, Juan runs the West Hollywood office and oversees both the large- and small-scale projects. From the initial concept meeting through installation, he is actively involved every step of the way. His deep interest for the creative process reflects in the attention to detail and craftsmanship he brings to each project. He takes pride in maintaining long-lasting professional relationships, ensuring collaborative and prestigious projects for all the years to come.
Michelle Tiet – Landscape Designer
Michelle earned a multidisciplinary degree from Otis College of Art and Design in Architecture/Landscape/Interiors. Since 2016, she has been with HOLA, first as an intern and now as a Junior Landscape Designer. She was a winner of the 2018 ICAA Winter Professional Intensive scholarship in New York. Currently Michelle is continuing her education as a student at UCLA extension program for Landscape Architecture. Michelle enjoys solving design problems and participating in collaborative projects. She believes engaging in teamwork unlocks the creative mind and brings refreshing design opportunities in the field.
Jen Cater – Senior Landscape Architect
Jennifer Cater is a licensed landscape architect with a passion to create spaces people are drawn to and lifestyle connections to our environments with indoor/outdoor living. With over 15 years of experience, she maintains a broad skill-base working with projects at various scales from the early vision stage through design detail and implementation. Jennifer spent 7 years in the UK with design firms focused on cultural development, public realm, and tourism destinations. Her projects in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America allowed Jennifer to become adept at identifying key characteristics that connect the built environments to their natural setting, history, and culture—establishing authentic and enduring outdoor spaces. Jennifer has a longstanding working relationship with Anna Hoffman and is a consultant for the design and construction of authentic, unique, and quality outdoor spaces for our clients.
Ken Mendonca – Senior Project Manager
Ken Mendonça is a project manager with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and 28 years of experience working in California, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Texas and Hawaii. He has worked on a broad range of projects which include hotels, public schools, streetscape design for cities, large scale housing developments, hospitals, single family home and high-end residential estates. Ken has a strong plant and construction background and is adept at creating unique outdoor environments for clients that enhance the architecture and reflect his client’s needs and personalities. Ken has an 18-year working relationship with Anna Hoffman and is a
consultant doing design, construction and garden implementation.
Scarlett Spaulding – Landscape Designer
Scarlett is a recent graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. After her internship in Knoxville, TN, she developed an interest in residential design which brought her to HOLA. She studied architecture for five months in Barcelona, Spain where she expanded her knowledge of graphic representation, 3D modeling, and historic design. She was a winner of the 2019 ICAA Fall Professional Intensive scholarship in San Francisco. She views landscape design as a form of spatial art which elicits strong consideration of the human experience. As a new member of the HOLA team in Texas, she is excited to examine each level of the design process and become a part of the local community.
